This edition, in 30 seconds

Six distinct steps moved in the Malaysian projects record for this slate. None establishes a new producing asset, an FPSO award or a measured AI result. That is the tempo.

Limbayong named a subsea contractor. TechnipFMC’s FMC Wellhead Equipment holds PETRONAS Carigali’s IEPCI subsea package (issuer “significant” band US$75–250 million). So what for Malaysia: a greenfield deepwater subsea scope now has a named contractor. Execution timing, FPSO and drilling remain separate and unproved here.

Estuary received a small-field PSC. MPM awarded Harvester Energy (Malaysia) Lerek, Korbu and Diwangsa. So what for Malaysia: a named developer now holds the Estuary opportunity. Development approval and execution contracts are not proved.

Mutiara received enhanced 3D seismic. MPM handed the data to DIALOG off eastern Sabah. So what for Malaysia: subsurface information advanced on a separate cluster from Estuary. A new PSC, FID or production is not proved.

Fugro completed an ultra-deepwater AUV geohazard survey over Megah and Limbayong. So what for Malaysia: planning survey data is confirmed on issuer paper. It is not FID, FPSO award or first oil.

Vantris added ~RM1.8bn of T&I work orders from PETRONAS Carigali and PTTEP. So what for Malaysia: named Malaysian offshore execution work through about Q4 2027. Mobilisation and per-order value splits are not proved.

myPROdata has an AI integration agreement. MPM signed with Iraya Energies; Iraya is named lead integrator. So what for Malaysia: platform, integrator and intended workflow are identified. Deployment and measured outcomes are not proved.

Limbayong: a subsea award names the contractor and scope

TechnipFMC names the contractor and scope; execution dates remain the next check.

Source fact

TechnipFMC says subsidiary FMC Wellhead Equipment received PETRONAS Carigali’s integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for Limbayong offshore Malaysia. The release covers the entire subsea scope. Its “significant” classification means US$75–250 million, a contract-value band rather than a disclosed exact price. Exact award date is not separately stated.

Why it matters

Readers tracking Limbayong can now attach a named contractor to the subsea package.

Interpretation

The subsea award stands on its own evidence. FPSO selection and drilling awards remain open until each appears under its own original.

Does not prove: FPSO selection, drilling award, offshore work commencement, first-oil date, total development cost or achieved efficiency improvements.
A disclosed execution schedule or installation mobilisation; independently sourced FPSO and drilling awards

Estuary: Harvester receives the small-field PSC

The award names a developer for three Malay Basin fields.

Source fact

MPM awarded Harvester Energy (Malaysia) the Small Field Asset PSC for Lerek, Korbu and Diwangsa. Exact award date unstated; publication 11 September 2026, dateline 9 September.

Why it matters

A named party now holds the Estuary development opportunity.

Interpretation

Licence award is the proved step. Approval and contracting would have to appear before the proposed concept reads as an execution programme.

Does not prove: FID, EPC award, construction start or realised savings.
Development approval or a named execution contract

Mutiara: seismic data handed to DIALOG

Source fact

MPM handed enhanced 3D seismic data to DIALOG for Mutiara off eastern Sabah. Exact handover date unstated; publication 11 September 2026, dateline 9 September.

Why it matters

DIALOG has additional information for evaluating the cluster.

Interpretation

Mutiara’s milestone is a data handover on its own cluster; it does not move Estuary’s licence stage.

Does not prove: A new PSC, FID or production. The release’s 2029 production timing is a target.

Fugro: ultra-deepwater AUV geohazard survey for Megah and Limbayong

Contractor release confirms a completed site survey campaign — not an FPSO selection or development award.

Firm — survey completed Issuer original inspected · fugro.com · published 28 Sep 2026 Campaign Jun–Aug 2026
ScopeMobiliseSurveyDeliveredEngineering useNext award
Source fact

Fugro says it executed PETRONAS Carigali’s geohazard site survey contract for the Megah and Limbayong fields offshore Sabah, East Malaysia. The release says the work marks the application of AUV technology for PETRONAS Carigali ultra-deepwater geohazard site survey supporting development. Fugro deployed Echo Surveyor 8 from Fugro Equator; KLROC provided continuous QC and processing. Offshore campaign June–August 2026; Fugro published 28 September 2026.

Why it matters

Readers tracking Megah and Limbayong now have a named contractor original confirming advanced site characterisation for both fields, alongside the Limbayong subsea award.

Interpretation

This is survey evidence for development planning. Survey completion is not FID, FPSO award or first oil.

Does not prove: FPSO selection, drilling award, FID, sanctioned development scheme, first-oil date or total development cost.
Independently sourced Megah or Limbayong development awards beyond the known Limbayong subsea IEPCI; disclosed engineering or installation next steps that cite this survey data

Vantris: ~RM1.8bn of additional T&I work from PETRONAS Carigali and PTTEP

Two work orders under existing agreements; Bursa names the PCSB SK316 trunkline scope.

Source fact

Vantris Energy says VTEB Offshore (formerly Sapura Offshore), an indirect wholly owned subsidiary, secured two offshore transportation and installation work orders from PETRONAS Carigali and from PTTEP HK Offshore / PTTEP Sarawak Oil, combined value approximately RM1.8 billion. Issuer PR: both scopes start about Q3 calendar 2026 and complete about Q4 calendar 2027. Bursa announcement GA1-25092026-00012 (25 Sep 2026; client release approval 24 Sep) names Work Order 1 as T&I for SK316 NC3/NC8 Trunkline 7 FAC under the existing PCSB facilities T&I contract, and Work Order 2 as a PTTEP price-agreement T&I work order.

Why it matters

A large, named T&I replenishment with issuer and exchange originals — trackable Malaysian execution work through 2027.

Interpretation

The combined ~RM1.8 billion sits on two distinct work orders. The PCSB SK316 trunkline naming comes with the Bursa filing; the PTTEP order is a separate price-agreement scope. Per-order values and mobilisation remain open.

Does not prove: individual work-order split values, vessel nominations, mobilisation started, or completion ahead of the stated window.
Disclosed mobilisation or vessel deployment; any further Bursa/issuer updates that split value or name additional scopes

Distinct steps, not one story. A named subsea contractor, a small-field PSC, a seismic handover, a completed ultra-DW site survey, large T&I work orders and an AI agreement are not interchangeable milestones. None of them establishes a new producing asset, an FPSO award or a measured AI result. Onstream follows evidence rather than filling a fixed calendar with noise.

AI Engineering — myPROdata: MPM signed an agreement with Iraya Energies to add agentic AI to PETRONAS myPROdata. The intended workflow connects geological, geophysical and engineering information for upstream evaluation; Iraya is the lead integrator (PETRONAS announcement, published 4 Sep 2026, dateline 3 Sep — issuer original inspected). Agreement → rollout → measured outcome are three different states — only the agreement is established here. Does not prove deployment, validated decision quality, measured time savings or realised investment. Watch: announced rollout and a defined engineering use case, then measured performance against a baseline.
One question to ask
“Which of these steps actually moved an execution clock — and which only named a party, a survey or a data handoff?”

Limbayong now has a named subsea contractor. Estuary has a developer. Mutiara has more subsurface data. Fugro has delivered Megah+Limbayong survey data. Vantris has ~RM1.8bn of T&I work on the book. myPROdata has an AI integrator on paper. The next useful signals are schedules, approvals, mobilisation and measured outcomes — not restated ambitions.
